
Note from BW of Brazil: Following up on a story first presented on the blog back in early July, eight-year Maria Sant’Anna was crowned the Mini Miss America International in a contest held in Mexico a little over a week ago. Congratulations “Mini Miss” Brasileira!
Maria Victorya Manzi Sant’Anna wins international competition in Mexico.

It was an eight-year old “carioca (person from Rio de Janeiro) that won Miss Universo Mirim (Little Miss Universe) title of 2013 in a contest that took place on July 27 in Mexico. Maria Victórya Manzi de Sant’ Anna was voted the most beautiful girl of the Americas in the event titled the Mini Miss America International.
“We cannot describe the feeling of the reading my daughter’s name as the winner of the contest. We made custom shirts, took Brazilian flags, it was a real party,” said the little one’s mother, Ana Carolina Manzi Sant’Anna.
Winning the Mini Miss Universe 2013 title of was not an easy task for Maria Victórya, who got help from the NGO Niterói + Humana to raise money for her trip to Mexico.

In the contest, the girl highlighted her appearance with her gala dress, a tribute to legendary Brazilian singer, Carmen Miranda. The creator of the outfit was none other than João Calheiros, a professional from the Beija-Flor Samba school (1) de Nilópolis (2) .
Among the activities of Miss are dance classes and jobs as a model. What does she want for the future? More applause, of course.
