Damiris Dantas do Amaral: MVP of the 2011 Women’s Under 19 Division basketball tournament

Damiris Dantas do Amaral, is from São Paulo. At 6’3″, she led Brazil to a bronze medal in the Women’s Under 19 division championships in Chile in 2011 and claimed the MVP award of tournament while she was at it. She was discovered by possibly Brazil’s most famous basketball player, Janeth Arcain, a key component of the WNBA’s Houston Comets’ 4 straight championships from 1997-2000. Amaral’s dream is to compete for Brazil in the 2012 Olympics.
