Bruna is a fan of the Sport Club Corinthians Paulista commonly known Corinthians and referred to as Timão (meaning the “Big Team”). In this essay, she competes to become the most beautiful of Corinthians fans. For those not familiar with Brazilian soccer, the Corinthians soccer team is an elite championship team on par with dynasties like the NBA’s LA Lakers, the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys or MLB’s New York Yankees. You don’t really know what it is to be sports fan until you’ve been in São Paulo when Corinthians has won a big game or a title!

Corinthians is a Brazilian multisport club based in Tatuapé, a neighborhood in the city of São Paulo. Although they compete in a number of different sports, Corinthians is mostly known for its association football team. It plays in the Paulistão, the State of São Paulo’s premier state league, as well as the Brasileirão, the top tier of the Brazilian football league system. Corinthians are the reigning World and South American club champions, having won the 2012 FIFA Club World Cup and the 2012 Copa Libertadores.
Corinthians has won the Brasileirão five times. The “Timão” have also claimed three Copa do Brasil trophies, one Supercopa do Brasil, two FIFA Club World Cups and one Copa Libertadores. They have also won the Campeonato Paulista 27 times and the Torneio Rio – São Paulo on five occasions, being the record-holder as the most successful club in those competitions.
