Brazilian "Dreamgirls"

I’m sure you all remember the hit flick Dreamgirls from 2006, the adaptation of the 1981 musical of the same name. The movie that starred Beyonce, but that many would argue, Jennifer Hudson actually ended up stealing the show. In 2007, the makeup artist/photographer/host/ex-model Fernando Torquatto came up with an idea of re-creating the image of the stars of Dreamgirls, Anika Noni Rose, Beyoncé and Jennifer Hudson, with three well known Afro-Brazilian actresses, Lucy Ramos, Ildi Silva and Preta Gil. Don’t get it twisted, it was only a photo session! There wasn’t any Brazilian re-make of the film, but it is an interesting take on theme.
