“Since marriage constitutes slavery for women, it is clear that the Women’s Movement must concentrate on attacking this institution. Freedom for women cannot be won without the abolition of marriage.” — Sheila Cronan, “Marriage,” 1970, in Radical Feminism, edited by Anne Koedt, et al. (1973)
Note from BW of Brazil: Well, I guess it would be safe to assume that singer MC Carol to feminist Sheila Cronan’s opinion seriously. In some ways, this shouldn’t come as a surprise from a woman who penned the song “100% Feminista” (100% feminist). Although I stand against sexism, racism, classism and so many other -isms, I DO wonder what would happen to society if ALL women began to adopt this posture concerning the union of women and men. What are your thoughts?

In comments, people demonstrated supported and consoled the singer. “Carol, the important thing is that you have experienced great moments that will not be forgotten, everything is for us to evolve,” wrote one follower. “Don’t think like this, there’s a lot of guys who are crazy wanting you. I’ll bet on this,” another fan wrote.

We wouldn’t have a society, if women thought like this. Independence is a myth, in actuality. And anyone who thinks they are, deceive themselves. We need each other to survive.
Preach on, Terrance.
