The baiana was photographed by friend and makeup artist Fernando Torquatto
Before landing in Salvador to attend an institutional event, actress Ildi Silva, who plays a prostitute in the remake of the classic Brazilian film Gabriela, posed for the lens of friend and makeup artist Fernando Torquatto inspired by the style of pop singer Rihanna.
In an interview with the Quem magazine online edition, the photographer said the intent of the photo shoot is to show the style ‘former good girl’ who becomes a bad girl, like Rihanna.
“The punk reference never ends. And this summer she comes with the light colors, feminine and with a bit of aggression,” says Torquatto, taking the opportunity to praise the baiana(woman from the northeastern state of Bahia).
“She’s like my sister. She’s the most beautiful in Brazil,” he says.
This is the second time Ildi has borrowed the flavor of an international singer; previously she posed as Beyonce while two other Brazilian women rounded out the trio of the film Dreamgirls. This is also the second time singer Rihanna has been matched up with a Brazilian entertainer. In 2010, a website compared her red-haired Loud CD cover to long-time Brazilian Samba singer Alcione.
